Daniel L. “BamBam” Wendt, 73, of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2026 at his residence near Eldon. Born on July 13, 1952 in Cherokee, Iowa, he was the son of William John and Helen Dorothy (Umhoefer) Wendt. On January 26, 1996 in Little Falls, Minnesota, he married Michele Webery, who survives him at their home.
A career truck driver, Daniel retired as owner and operator of Wendt Trucking. He was also a skilled gunsmith and owned and operated Guns and Roses Gunsmithing. Known for his infectious laugh and larger-than-life personality, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and shooting competitions. In later years he learned to fly, restored a World War II-era plane, and cultivated a deep passion for history. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and creating lasting memories, especially with his granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife Michele; step-son Justin Brooks and wife Jessica of Jefferson City, Missouri; granddaughter Blair Brooks; brother Al Wendt and wife Marilyn of LeMars, Iowa; brothers-in-law Mike Webery (Kim) and Matt Webery (Tabby); sister-in-law Mendy Wieberg; nephews and nieces Adam Wendt (Shelly), Michael Wendt, and Jamie Rothschadl (Josh), along with several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William John Wendt, and his brother Paul Wendt.
