Daniel L. Hower

Daniel L. Hower, 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on February 27, 2026. Born on July 1, 1948, to the late Alfred and Betty Hower, Dan shared 40 years of marriage with his wife Jenean Price before her passing. He served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army and was a longtime member of the American Legion.

Dan enjoyed a distinguished 50-year career with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 103. He cherished weekends spent dancing and recreating the spirit of his American Bandstand days, bringing joy to those around him through his love of music and movement.

He is survived by his sons, Eric (Tammy) Hower and Bryan (Angie) Hower; grandchildren Bryant (Melissa) Hower and Dayanaira (Justin G.) Hower; step-grandchildren Dustin, Ty, and Jacob Froelich, Austin Holmes, and Christina Lehman; his brother Jerry (Cheryl) Hower; sister-in-law Gayla (Stephen) McMurray; nieces and nephews Jenny Karr, Kathy (Jarod) Hahn, Sean McMurray, Nichole (Troy) Plumlee, Mark (Kayeloni) Mason, and Natalie (Eric) Wagoner; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jenean, and brother Michael.
