Daniel H. “Danny” Long passed away on March 15, 2026 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Sheila M. (Kelly) Long, he was the loving father of Brenda Bonetti and her husband Anthony, Sheila-Beth Jarjoura and her husband Joe, Joanne Mitchell and her late husband John, Maureen Hayden and her husband Richard, Kerry Santos, Melinda Bruck, and the late Veronica Lino and her husband Gregory; cherished grandfather of Andre, Nicholas, Jonathan, Emily, Melanie, Ryan, Samantha, and Frank; and dear brother of the late David Long, Donald Long, Archibald Long, Elizabeth Ulrich, and Dorothy May Bartolomeo.

Danny will always be remembered for his deep love and admiration for his wife of 65 years, his six daughters and eight grandchildren. He was a lifelong friend to his Navy mates. He loved playing cards and games with his family and friends. He was a lifelong Celtics and Bruins fan. Danny loved singing and dancing whenever he got the chance. He had a great sense of humor and always had a kind word and smile upon his face. He will be greatly missed but the cherished memories will comfort us in our time of grief.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday. March 23, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Old Colony Hospice, by mail to 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360.
