Daniel Gene Winn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of the Ivanhoe community, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Carrus Hospital in Sherman, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on October 2, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of Leslie and Florence Winn.
Daniel shared 55 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Daphna Jean Winn. The couple married on July 17, 1970, at Telephone Baptist Church and built a life centered on love, faith, and family. He took great joy in his role as a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with those he held dearest.
He built a successful career in the geophysical industry, serving as Executive Vice President of Tidelands – Dawson Geophysical through years of dedicated leadership and hard work. A man of deep faith, Daniel served more than 20 years as a deacon at Telephone Baptist Church, where he quietly offered guidance, encouragement, and steadfast support to many in the congregation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Florence Winn; his brothers, Donald Winn and David Winn; his mother-in-law, Gladys Long Keene; his father-in-law, Wade Keene; his nephew, Brad Winn; and his nieces, Carolyn Jones and Linda Winn. Daniel is survived by his wife, Daphna; his daughter, Melissa Brent and husband Rodney; his grandchildren, Hunter Brent and wife Amanda, Caleb Brent and wife Tori, and Sarah Brent Morrison and husband Zach; and his great-grandchildren, Blakely Ryan Brent, Weston Daniel Brent, and Bennett Wade Brent. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to hold his memory close.
