Daniel Conrad Malitz

Daniel Conrad Malitz, 78, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 4, 2026. Born on June 7, 1947, in Saugerties, New York, he was the son of the late William E. Loerzel and Janice Martin Malitz. His family moved to Beacon, New York, during his elementary school years, where he later excelled on the high school wrestling team. After graduation, Dan served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1966 until 1970. Following an honorable discharge, he began a long career with IBM and relocated to Charlotte in 1979, where he met the love of his life, Terry.

Dan cherished the farm he shared with Terry, where they raised and rescued animals. He remained an avid New York Giants fan throughout his life, loved spending time outdoors, enjoyed bowling, and looked forward to trips to the beach for all-you-can-eat seafood.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Flowe; sons Sam and Luke Malitz; sister Francie Depaolo Shepherd; his adoring canine companion, Lila; and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David and Terry.
