August 3, 1941 March 7, 2026

Windham, NH

Dana Swift Moore of Windham, New Hampshire, passed peacefully on March 7, 2026, at High Point Hospice with her husband David Moore by her side.

Born on August 3, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dana grew up with her parents, Ted and Fran Swift, moving between Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1959. After returning to Massachusetts, she worked at various companies, including divisions of Honeywell, Motorola, and Applicon, where she formed many lifelong friendships that became her cherished “Circle of Friends.” She later served as manager of corporate programs and a member of the financial staff at Intertec Testing Services before retiring. Her career took her across the United States and Europe.

Dana was an active and creative person who loved gardening, growing flowers, photography, art, birdwatching, and cooking. She was an accomplished swimmer, snorkeler, licensed scuba diver, and advanced skier who enjoyed slopes throughout New England, the American West, Europe, and Canada. She and her late aunt Dorothy shared a special trip to the Chelsea Flower Show in London. Dana was also an enthusiastic sailor. She and David spent their honeymoon on a sailboat on Lake Winnipesaukee and later sailed extensively on the Chesapeake Bay aboard their boat Guenever, with Dana serving as first mate and “chief of the boat.” She was among the early volunteers who helped restore the historic square rigger merchant ship The Friendship of Salem. In her community, she served as a board member for the condominium associations at The Town Houses of Salem and Hadleigh Woods in Windham.

Dana is survived by her husband of more than 40 years, David; her stepdaughter Sharon Moore and Sharon’s children, Mary and Charlie; and her stepson Scott Moore and his wife Despina, along with their daughter Kathleen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
