Dana R. Oliver passed away on March 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Born on December 24, 1968, in Natick, Massachusetts, he was the son of Edward Oliver and Linda (Saves) Palmer, and the stepson of Jim Palmer.
Dana was a devoted husband and father, married for 22 years to his beloved wife and best friend, Melissa (Dutcher) Oliver. He is survived by their three sons, Devin, Brady, and Crew Oliver. A proud patriot and dedicated public servant, he served his country for 20 years in the United States Army, retiring with honor as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, the Green Berets. He then continued his commitment to service as a Massachusetts State Police Officer for another 20 years, retiring in 2024. Throughout his career, Dana was known for his dedication, integrity, and steadfast commitment to protecting his community.
Even while battling cancer, he continued to pursue his passion for competitive lacrosse, traveling across the country to play. His life was defined by unwavering dedication to his family, his profession, and his country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
