Dana Michael Ruehle

Dana Michael Ruehle, 64, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born on February 20, 1962, in Athens, Georgia, to the late Dr. John L. and Gail S. Ruehle, Dana was a warm and outgoing man who never met a stranger. He loved to laugh, tell stories, entertain friends, and playfully tease those he cared about, bringing joy wherever he went. Though he often joked, “If you need some help, call somebody,” he was invariably the first to show up, no matter the time or circumstance. His generous spirit, quick wit, competitive nature, and deep love of life made every moment shared with him unforgettable.

After a 40-year career in the technology and service industry, Dana retired and moved with his wife, Paula, to their dream home in Gulf Shores. There he embraced the coastal life he cherished, enjoying beach and pool days, golf, poker, boating, travel, building projects, gardening, and tinkering, but most of all, he treasured time spent with his wife, daughter, family, and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Ruehle; daughter, Taylor Ruehle; brother, Mark Ruehle; sister, Kim Dickerson and her husband, Tracy; brother, Keith Ruehle and his wife, Mercedes; nephew, Dr. Andrew Dickerson; and niece, April Cassan and her husband, Cameron. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
