Dan Jones ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Jansen Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 17, 2026.Daniel Ray Jones, known affectionately as Dan to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on March 16, 2026. Born on April 30, 1954, Dan's life was a testament to the power of kindness, generosity, and the enduring strength of family bonds.Dan's journey began as the cherished son of David and Marilyn, who preceded him in death, along with his beloved grandson Garrett and great-granddaughter Meadow. He grew up alongside his siblings Gary (Stella) Jones and Kim Jones, forging lifelong bonds and memories that would carry through the years.A devoted husband, Dan shared a beautiful and loving marriage with his wife Kathy. Together, they nurtured a family that included: Julie (Roland) Major, Cathy (Chris) Sweeney, Art (Heather) Tribbey, Andy (Michelle) Tribbey, and Aaron Tribbey. Dan's legacy continued to flourish with the joy of his grandchildren Breanna (Kyle), Christion (Dayna), Aira (Jacob), Tiffany Taylor, Haleigh (Chad), Shyan (Abe), AJ, and Austin, and he was blessed to see the arrival of his great-grandchildren Bowen, Wilder, and Hazel.Dan's professional life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his work at General Motors - Flint Truck Assembly, where his dedication and work ethic were as much a part of him as his warm smile and ready laugh. His colleagues at General Motors will remember him not only for his reliability but also for the camaraderie and support he extended to everyone around him.Beyond his professional achievements, Dan's passions painted a vivid picture of a man who embraced life with both hands. His love for music was undeniable, and he found great joy in playing his guitar, a hobby that often became the centerpiece of family gatherings. The revving engine of his muscle car was a familiar sound to friends and neighbors, signaling Dan's appreciation for classic automotive beauty and the open road. Yet, above all, it was the simple moments spent with his family that Dan cherished most deeply, understanding that the true measure of a man's wealth is found in the love and laughter shared with those he holds dear.Described by those who knew him as thoughtful, selfless, and gentle, Dan's influence extended far beyond the confines of his immediate circle. His kindness was a beacon, guiding others toward compassion and empathy, and his selflessness was a reminder of the impact one individual can have on the lives of many.Family and friends may visit 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2026 and 3:00 to 9:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.
