Dan Garrett Groesbeck

Dan Garrett Groesbeck, 81, of Lorimor, Iowa, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Azria Health in Winterset, Iowa. Born on April 5, 1944, in Creston, Iowa, to George Garrett Groesbeck and Maxine (Berry) Groesbeck, Dan graduated from Lorimor schools with the class of 1962.

On February 22, 1976, he married Dolores J. McKray in Lorimor. Dan spent many winters operating a bulldozer for Frank Adams and later worked for R.B. Birch on highway projects across Iowa. For approximately thirty years, he owned and operated Groesbeck Construction until his retirement.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dolores (Dee) Groesbeck, and his brother George Groesbeck. He is survived by his stepson, Jerry (Colleen) Jenkins, Jr. of Des Moines; his sisters, Esther (Lon) Means of Johnston and Ruth McDowell of Johnston; many nieces and nephews; and his granddaughter, Madison Jenkins.
