Westlake, OH

Dan Craft, age 59, beloved husband of Tracy (nee Gregg), dear son of Darlene Baker (Bill) and the late Robert Craft, brother of Dory Allen (Chris), uncle of Katie, Jessica, and Ben, and dear friend of Ben and Karen Gommel, passed away at the age of 59.

Dan lived a life defined by intelligence, kindness, humor, and a deep appreciation for both people and the simple joys of everyday life. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loyal friend, a loving son, brother and uncle, a gifted professional, and someone whose wit could brighten any room.

A graduate of Bay Village High School, Dan found joy in music as a member of both the jazz band and the marching band, bringing enthusiasm and spirit to every performance and activity. He went on to attend the University of Akron, where he developed the strong analytical skills and work ethic that shaped his successful career as a Certified Public Accountant. Dan worked with several respected organizations, including Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, and the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center. Colleagues valued his sharp mind, professionalism, unwavering integrity, and his thoughtful, steady presence.

Outside of work, Dan volunteered generously with BVU and JumpStart, supporting community initiatives that helped others succeed. He had a deep love for gardening, especially nurturing orchids with patience and care, creating beauty that brought peace and joy to his life. A devoted Cleveland sports fan, he held season tickets to the Guardians and rarely missed a game, while also cherishing time spent watching the Cavs. Above all, Dan was known for his wonderful sense of humor, often sharing the clever, offbeat jokes of Stephen Wright with impeccable timing that delighted family, friends, and colleagues. Deeply intelligent and curious, he engaged in warm, insightful conversations that made others feel valued and heard.

Most importantly, Dan cherished his life with his beloved wife, Tracy. Their partnership, built on love, mutual respect, and shared laughter, was the center of his world. His legacy of kindness, intelligence, generosity, and humor will live on in the many lives he touched through his work, volunteer service, friendships, and family. He will be deeply missed but warmly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
