Dale Tozier Sr.

Dale Tozier Sr., 73, of Bucksport, Maine, passed away at his home on March 9, 2026. Born on May 27, 1952, in Bangor, Maine, to Dana and Jeanette (Rich) Tozier, he graduated from Bangor High School in 1970. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Mary-Jo, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and community.

Dale worked alongside his father at the Bucksport Variety until 1986, when he and Mary-Jo, with the help of their children, opened the first of three additional stores. Known affectionately as “Brampa” to his grandchildren, he cherished time with his loving family. He found joy in playing golf, following the Patriots, vacationing in Florida, and giving back to his community. Over the years, he coached Little League and youth football, served as president of the Bucksport Jaycees and the Maine Grocers Association, and organized a weekly golf scramble at Searsport Pines.

He was predeceased by his parents and his grandson Michael. Dale is survived by his wife Mary-Jo; his son Dale Jr. and wife Tarah; his daughter Aubrey (Tozier) Atherton and husband Wayne; grandchildren Jocelyn, Alex, Kaylee, Nolan, and Aiden; his sister Joyce; his brother Mike; his beloved stepmom Marion; and his best friend Harold Johnson.
