Dale Parkinson of Flint, Michigan, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 78. Born in Flint on February 27, 1948, to the late Carl and Geraldine (Talley) Parkinson, Dale married the love of his life, Margaret “Joann” Besson, on July 23, 1977. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2008.

Dale retired from General Motors in 1996 after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2011, he became the owner of the Sports Coupe Lounge, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and the community. He had a lifelong passion for horse racing and owned several horses. Dale also loved visiting casinos and spending time outdoors, especially at the family cabin on Crystal Lake with his brothers, Jeff and Roger. He was especially proud of his family and cherished every moment with his children and grandson, particularly watching his grandson play football. Though known for being stubborn and set in his ways, those closest to him understood the deep love and loyalty he held for his family.

He is survived by his children, David (Kristina) Parkinson and Gary Parkinson; grandchildren Alixendra, Adam (Jayna), Matthew (Sydnie), Dustin, and Megan; six great-grandchildren; brothers Roger (Nancy) and Jeff (Kathy) Parkinson; several nieces, nephews, and stepchildren; his significant other, Shannon Bair; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Pamela Burnash, his wife Margaret “Joann” Parkinson, and his nephew Rick Parkinson.
