Dale A. Mork, 85, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

A Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Plymouth Congregational UCC, Aberdeen, with Pastor Don Peck officiating.

A time for fellowship and lunch will follow the service at the church hall.

Interment with Military Honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the lunch.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at Schriver's Memorial Chapel with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church.

Dale A. Mork was born July 29, 1940, in Britton, South Dakota, to Anthony and Edith (Shannon) Mork. He was raised for some time in Pierpont and later made his home in Andover and Britton, where he worked for local farmers before eventually settling in Aberdeen.

Dale proudly served in the United States Army from November 21, 1963, to November 19, 1965, when he was honorably discharged. On September 14, 1968, Dale was united in marriage to Linda Emery in Barnard, SD. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and community.

Following his military service, Dale began working for the State Highway Department and later for Pepsi Bottling Company. After moving to Aberdeen, he began a lifelong career with the City of Aberdeen as a heavy equipment operator. He dedicated 30 years of service to the city before retiring in 2001. Never one to sit still, Dale continued working part-time, repairing parking meters, often late into the night, to keep busy and earn a little extra income.

Dale was a longtime, dedicated member of the Aberdeen Moose Lodge #590, the Aberdeen Elks Lodge #1046, the Eagles Club, the VFW, and the American Legion. He valued the friendships and fellowship he found within these organizations.

An avid bowler, Dale was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999 and earned numerous state bowling awards throughout the years. He especially cherished winning the State Doubles Tournament alongside his son in 2002, a memory he held close to his heart.

Dale loved following his son’s sporting events and later took great pride in cheering on his granddaughters at their activities. He was a devoted supporter of Aberdeen Central and Northern State University athletics. When he wasn’t at a game or spending time with family, you could often find Dale tinkering in the garage, always working on a project and happiest with tools in hand.

Dale will be remembered for his steady work ethic, his loyalty to family and friends, his quiet generosity, and the pride he took in everything he did. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, laughter, and love that will not be forgotten.

Dale is survived by his son, Todd (Val) Mork; granddaughters Haylee and Meghan; and two sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Edith; wife, Linda; three brothers, Clyde, Robert, and Lloyd Mork; and two sisters, Agnes Hildebrandt and Mary Stiegelmeier.
