Dale Kumerow ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral & Cremation Services and Cemetery - North Olmsted on Mar. 17, 2026.Dale Kumerow, 72, of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, integrity, and service to others.Born on September 21, 1953, in Parma, Ohio, Dale was a proud graduate of Parma High School, Class of 1972, where he was known for his strength and discipline as a member of the wrestling team.Dale spent many years working as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. A large part of his career was spent at Fay Industries in Strongsville, Ohio. He was known by those who loved him for his commitment to physical fitness, his passion for Triumph motorcycles, and for building an impressive backyard treehouse that became a point of pride and joy.Above all else, Dale was a man of deep and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He attended Grace Christian Missionary & Alliance Church in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, for many years, where he faithfully served others. Dale spent many years teaching children's Sunday school, sharing his love for the Bible with the next generation. He was also known as the friendly Sunday morning shuttle bus driver, always greeting others with warmth and kindness.Dale knew the Bible well, having memorized entire chapters, and his life reflected his deep love for God's Word. His life was defined by service to others and devotion to Jesus. Dale was always ready to help anyone in need and was known for quietly showing up with a pizza or another small token of care-simple ways he shared the love of Christ with those around him.If Dale could leave one message to those he loved, it would be his deepest desire that every member of his family and every friend come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.Dale was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roy and Hannah Kumerow, and by his stepson, Brandon Geiger.He is survived by his devoted siblings, Roy Kumerow (Judy), Linda Kumerow, and Gary Kumerow (Susan). He also leaves behind his former wife and dear friend, Danette Stropko (D), and his step-daughter, Stephanie Geiger-Belardo (Mario).Dale was a devoted uncle to Jack Petrick (Rachel) and Jamie Petrick (Jen), and a proud great-uncle to Emma, Cole, Logan, Faith, Gabby, and Elijah Petrick, all of whom he loved dearly.He also leaves behind many dear friends who will greatly miss him.Dale finished well. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, servant's heart, and unwavering faith. While he will be deeply missed, those who knew him take comfort in the assurance that he is now safely home with the Lord and has heard the words he lived his life to honor:"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord."-Matthew 25:23"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."-Acts 20:24Dale's Life Chapter: Isaiah 53Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
