He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Dewey Mitchum and Ruth Long Mitchum; and his wife Jacquelyn Simmons Mitchum.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Dale's request was, in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation in his memory to the Way Station Food Pantry at Church of the Hill, 9050 Ford Avenue, Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
