Daisy Nell Flatt

Dothan, AL

Daisy Nell Flatt, aged 90, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rehobeth, Alabama, on November 10, 1935, to Charlie and Carmel Battles, Nell lived a life defined by her deep devotion to family, her strong faith, and her vibrant spirit.

A devoted matriarch, Nell was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Pierce Flatt, her son Steve Flatt, her grandson Zane Flatt, her parents, and her brother Johns Battles. She is survived by her children, Robert Flatt (Jana) and Lisa Bone (Tommy); her grandchildren, Jeremy Flatt (Veronica), Stephanie (Robbie) Bates, Amber (Lance) Tucker, Troy (Alesha) Flatt, Zana Arnold, Connor Flatt (Stephanie), Carrie-Grace Knight (Hunter), Logan Cantrell (Ryan), Zach Bone (Logan), and Alex Wagner (Shelby); and her 28 great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with joy.

Nell was a gifted seamstress whose quilts, costumes, and handmade clothing were expressions of her love and creativity. Her home was always welcoming and impeccably kept, a place where she served others with warmth and generosity. She met Pierce while he served in the Army, and together they built a life marked by adventure, including moves to Texas in 1957 and back to Dothan in 1971. They traveled the world, creating memories that endured. A woman of quiet strength and spunk, Nell remained a constant source of support, wisdom, and affection for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her faith guided her throughout her life. She was a longtime member of Westgate Church of Christ in Dothan from 1971 to 2007, later attending University Church of Christ in Montgomery before returning to Dothan. She cherished reading her Bible and found comfort and direction in her beliefs. In her later years, she was lovingly cared for by Margie Barnes, who became a dear part of the family. Nell Flatt will be remembered as a kind, funny, and steadfast woman whose love and legacy continue through all those she touched. A private family service will be held.
