Lake Charles, LA

Cynthia Holloway Washington, more lovingly known as "Earth Mother," passed away at the age of 72.

Cindy cherished her roles as a mother, friend, prayer warrior, and steady rock for so many. She was a source of strength and comfort. She was always present when someone needed encouragement, wisdom, or simply a listening ear. Cindy never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. A strong Christian, her faith was the foundation of her life, and she would want everyone to know the God she faithfully served.

She was an active member of the Manna Food Ministry and treasured time with her coffee group and Sunday school ladies at Trinity Baptist Church. Cindy found joy in God's creation and loved traveling, especially to Bonaire, and anywhere she could enjoy the outdoors. One of a kind in every way, she had a special talent for finding the best bakeries wherever she traveled. She was the peacekeeper of her family, able to see the good in everyone and always willing to build meaningful relationships. Cindy was also known as a phenomenal cook whose meals brought people together and created lasting memories.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Scott Washington; her three children, Seth Washington (Lauren), Scotty Washington, and Silas Washington (Amelia); and her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin, Mary Elizabeth, Lauryn, Mia, David, Holland, and Elias.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshal and Dorothy Holloway.

A time of visitation will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A time of sharing will begin at 5:00 p.m.
