Cynthia Kaye "Cindy" Pagel

Cynthia Kaye “Cindy” Pagel, 74, of Lincoln, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 15, 1951, in Lincoln, Illinois, Cindy was the daughter of Daniel H. and Elizabeth (Klockenga) Aughton. She married Jerry Pagel on November 6, 1970, and together they built a life centered on family, creativity, and service. Cindy worked in home interiors and real estate with Doris and Associates. She had a keen eye for design and took great pleasure in decorating, but her deepest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren.

Cindy served for several years on the Habitat for Humanity board and cherished the friendships she shared through the Red Hat Society. She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and generosity touched everyone around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Pagel; daughters Angie (Mike) Webb and Dara Pagel (Derek Goewert); grandchildren Jackson (Kathleen Schuler), Shelby, Taylor, Mya, Gavin, and Zoe; and great-grandchildren Quinn and Liam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Jonathan Todd Pagel, and her brother Roger Aughton.
