Cynthia Jane Chase

Cynthia Jane Chase of West Harwich passed away suddenly at her home on the evening of Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born in Hyannis on April 1, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. Chase and Jane Reynolds Chase and spent her entire life on Cape Cod.

Known affectionately as “Chin” to some, Cynthia grew up surrounded by animals, caring for chickens, rabbits, ducks, horses, Zegan the goat, the family dog Jessica, and Zephyr the cat. She loved swimming, hiking, running, and singing, becoming a beloved regular at local karaoke nights where she earned the nickname “The Karaoke Queen.”

A creative spirit, Cynthia devoted more than thirty years to floral design. She crafted countless beautiful arrangements for holidays, funerals, and celebrations, with a particularly meaningful chapter spent at Patrice R. Milley Floral Designs. Her own home in West Harwich reflected her passion, filled with fresh flowers, garden beds, indoor plants, hand-painted floral walls, and beloved frog statues.

Above all, Cynthia cherished time with her family. She is survived by her four children, Evan, Megan (Ryan), Carly (John and his daughter Aubrey), and Cody; five siblings, Melinda, Kevin, Bradford (Donna), Jennifer, and Daniel; two grandchildren, Hunter and Cora, who lovingly called her “Grumma”; five grand-dogs, Bailey, Masha, Oscar, Jake, and Boon; eleven nieces and nephews; and ten great-nieces and nephews. In her later years she found great joy in weekend dinners with her children and grandchildren, and in relaxed Friday evenings spent with her sister Jennifer and dear friends Beth, Mary, Joanie, and Elizabeth, filled with laughter, wine, music, dancing, and good food. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Island Pond Cemetery.
