Ziehl of Shelton, died peacefully on February 2, 2026 in the comfort of her home with her husband by her side. A Shelton resident since 2022, she previously resided in Monroe and Seymour. Born in Brookhaven, MS on September 14, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Alcus Allmand and Helen Louise White Allmand. Mrs. Ziehl was raised in Westport, CT and was a 1973 graduate of Staples High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College and worked as a licensed real estate agent and an administrative assistant for her husband's law firm as her primary focus was her family and raising her children. Since 2016, Mrs. Ziehl was employed at Yale University as an Administrative Manager for the Pathology and Research Grant Departments. She continued to work during the entire eight years of her illness. She was entirely devoted to her children and grandchildren and committed her life to helping them with all their life's projects, challenges, and successes. She also loved travelling, camping and just being with her family. She will be remembered by all who know her as a hero whose spirit, inner strength, character, and optimism transcended the monumental hardships she faced. In addition to her spouse of 46 years, she is survived by her children, Olivia Allmand Ziehl of Monroe, Robert Allmand Ziehl and Darren Allmand Ziehl, both of Seymour; a sister, Celeste Rogers and her husband, Martin of Bridgeport; brothers, Jacques Allmand and Jules Allmand, both of CA; cherished grandchildren, Shane, Lexie and Max Wade, all of Monroe; as well as several nieces and nephews.A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2026, at a time and place to be announced.The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements.
