Curtis R. Burton, 66, of Lewistown, passed away on Sunday morning, March 15, 2026, at the Central Montana Medical Center after a very short battle with cancer. He was born on November 21, 1959, in Northridge, California, to James E. and Alta G. (Andrews) Burton. He lived in Reseda, California, and received his education there. He worked for Lockheed Martin for several years before joining the United States Navy. He was trained in electronics, and upon receiving his discharge, Curtis was employed by ITT Gilfillan, working in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, installing radar stations. Upon returning to California, he spent several years working in construction. In 1999, Curtis met Sylvia Dreher, and they married on June 12, 2012, in Lake Balboa, California. They remained in California until visiting Montana in 2019, after which they decided to relocate to Lewistown in July 2020.
Curtis was a member and held the position of Junior Past President at the Lewistown Eagles Lodge; he was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Fergus Post #16 of the American Legion.
Curtis loved his grandchildren, fishing, playing pool, and visiting with friends.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia of Lewistown; his daughter Michele (Ray) Valdiviezo of Santa Clarita, California; his brother Brad (Marlena) of Las Vegas, Nevada; his cousins Andy (Renee) Winton of Florida and Christine Geary of Montana; and his four grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Naythen, and Riley.
A Celebration of Life for Curtis Burton will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Lewistown. Cremation has taken place, with the Cloyd Funeral Home assisting the family.
