Curtis Eugene Parsons

Curtis Eugene Parsons, 63, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away March 13, 2026, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 8, 1962, in Gainesville, Texas, to Maze Parsons Jr. and Sharon Joann (Kidd) Parsons.

Curtis worked as a lineman for many years and was known for his hard work and dedication. He enjoyed the simple things in life and found great joy spending time at his farmhouse with his chickens and horse. Curtis loved visiting with family, sharing stories, and talking about good memories. Though he attended church occasionally, he had a strong and personal relationship with God.

Curtis is survived by his daughters, Jess Ann Music and husband Dustin, and Sarah Akau and husband Colin; his mother, Sharon Prestage; his sister, Teresa Shaw and husband Bo; his brother, Tony Parsons and wife Rita; and his soon-to-be grandchild, Koa-Slade Akau, who he was so excited to meet. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maze Parsons Jr.; stepfather, Kermit Prestage; and his daughter, Crystal Elise Parsons.

The family will receive friends at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with funeral services to follow beginning at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Larry Eberhart officiating. Mr. Parsons will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery.

Nephews and cousins will serve as pallbearers.
