Curtis Moss ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Bald Knob on Mar. 16, 2026.Curtis Dean Moss was born February 10th 1962 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona to Bobby and Glenna (Jones) Moss. Curtis grew up in a large military family with 5 sisters and 4 brothers. His father's duty assignments generally had the family relocating every 3 years. By the age of 14, he lived in Arizona, Arkansas and Germany multiple times each. During his school years, Curtis was active in sports - running track, football and skiing. Upon his father's retirment from the military, he attended Little Rock Hall and later Searcy high school, after which he moved to Oklahoma, where he met the love of his life, Gina. While there, he worked as a plant supervisor for Collins and Aikman. Curtis and his family then moved back to Arkansas where he worked in construction and sales. He enjoyed spending his free time passionately debating his view on politics, faith, and anything that bothered him that day. He was meticulous in taking care of his yard and his home. Although his eyesight was terrible and all of Searcy should have been afraid when he drove, he could still spot a spec of dust or tiny crumb from 20 feet away. He was a strong man of faith and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He enjoyed astronomy, history, reading books, and following the Razorbacks. A man that truly was unapologetically himself and was unconstrained by silly things like "laws" or "social etiquette". He was also the best Pop anyone could imagine. His girls were the absolute lights of his life. Every holiday he would spend hours decorating his house for elaborate parties all for them. He would orchestrate scavenger hunts, visits from elves, fairies, and mermaids, and built the best forts. Late night bonfires with s'mores or big bowls of ice cream were always an option. He filled their lives with joy and wonder, and loved every minute of it. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cassandra (Cassie), and son, Nathan. He is survived by Gina Loyd and their son Brandon Moss; granddaughters, Olivia, Eva, and Isla Moss; brothers, Terrence (Terry) and wife Karen Moss, Ronald and wife Jamie Moss, James Moss, and Gary Moss all of Arkansas; sisters, Brenda and husband David Brown (of Selma, Oregon), Cheryl and husband Bob Hritz (of Westlake, Ohio), Valerie and husband Kevin Barnett, Karin and husband Jim Burress, each residing in Arkansas. The visitation will be Wednesday, March 18th at Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob, Arkansas. Family time will be from 5pm to 6pm followed by general public visitation from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral will be held Thursday March 19th at 11am at New Beginnings Church, also in Bald Knob. Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia, Arkansas.Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob-Judsonia.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
