Cristian Polanco ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - Ocala on Mar. 17, 2026.Cristian Polanco was born on August 13, 1978, in the city of Cotuí, Dominican Republic. He was raised in a loving home by his parents, Germán Polanco and Rosa Goris, alongside his five sisters. His childhood was filled with joy, always surrounded by the love and presence of his family. As the only son and the youngest boy, Cristian was deeply cherished, adored, and lovingly spoiled. He grew up in a humble neighborhood in Cotuí, where his strong values of love, family, and resilience were formed. At the age of nine, Cristian immigrated to the United States, settling in New York City. He lived in Washington Heights, on Arden Street, where he built lifelong friendships and created memories that stayed with him forever. He remained there through his adolescence until the age of 18.He later moved to Miami with his mother, his sister Annie, and his nephew Kevin, where they began a new chapter together. While working at a mall, Cristian met Jennifer, who would later become his wife. From the very beginning, his humor, warmth, and contagious laughter captured her heart. Their love story grew over ten years, beginning in 1999, and in 2009, they were married.Through love, faith, and perseverance, they built a beautiful family together. After much prayer and overcoming challenges, they were blessed with two children, Isaiah and Emma, who became the center of Cristian's world. He was an incredible father-devoted, selfless, and always willing to do anything for his children, his wife, and his family.Cristian was a hardworking man who took pride in providing and helping others. In 2019, he showed incredible strength by overcoming a stroke, and again in 2025, he fought through a mild heart attack. Despite these challenges, he remained determined to improve his health and continue being there for his loved ones.In 2023, Cristian moved with his wife and children to Central Florida, settling in Ocala, where they worked hard to build a new foundation for their family. Though times were not always easy, he remained committed and hopeful. He worked in maintenance before recently beginning a new role with Marion County Public Schools as a painter-a position he was proud of and truly enjoyed.Cristian had a gift for connecting with people. Everyone who met him felt his genuine spirit, his kindness, and his unmistakable New York warmth. He treated friends like family and carried himself with humility, love, and authenticity. His laughter, his presence, and his love will never be forgotten. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, while working hard outdoors, Cristian passed away in the evening, around 7:30–8:00 p.m. Though his passing was sudden, he left this world the same way he lived-giving his all.Cristian will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
