Crisostomo “Tom” L. Oliveros, born in Manila, Philippines on January 27, 1935, passed away on March 14, 2026.
Tom lived a life that spanned continents and touched many hearts. A proud graduate of Feati University with a degree in Civil Engineering, he designed dams in Luzon to help control flooding, worked with Air America in Vietnam for over a decade, and contributed to vital infrastructure projects in Iraq and Iran. In the late 1970s, he joined his wife and children in the Chicagoland area, where he spent more than half his life. He later retired from a dedicated career overseeing highway improvements for Cook County in Chicago.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was known for his deep kindness and vibrant spirit. He was the devoted husband of the late Aurelia (Rely) Oliveros, a dedicated father to Jeff (Ching) Oliveros and Jean (Kent) Swaine, and a proud grandfather to Stephanie, Rachel, Joshua, and Kaley. He was a dear brother to Margie, Tessie, Lita, and Ato, and was predeceased by Letty, Jun, Luding, Roger, and Rosie.
Tom filled his life and the lives of those around him with music, whether singing or playing the piano and guitar. He found joy in quiet fishing trips, the strategy of mahjong, and sharing casino outings with his family. Known for his generosity and constant encouragement, his legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
