Creed Poole Jr.

Creed Poole Jr.

Soddy-Daisy, TN

Creed W. Poole, Jr., 85, of Soddy-Daisy, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026, after a brief illness. He was a 1958 graduate of Sale Creek High School, and further studies at Clemson University and North Carolina State. Creed worked for Velsicol Chemical (Chattanooga, TN) and Ferro Corp (Cleveland, OH) before retiring in 2003. His personality was magnetic. His enthusiasm for life and Jesus would draw friends from all walks of life, so much so, that we lovingly referred to his as "Preacher" Poole! He served as an "one man billboard" for his church, where he taught couples and singles Sunday School for years. His joy and faith were a contagion into other passions too. "Preacher" was a member of NMCOA (National Monte Carlo Owners Association) for 33 years and was chaplain for 22 years. As a classic car enthusiast, he was dubbed "Mr. Monte Carlo". Additionally, Creed was an avid bass fisherman as he started and organized Sale Creek Bass Club for 22 years. He was an Ordained Deacon at First Baptist; Trustee of the Shelton Cemetery in Sale Creek for 15 years along with a member of their Board of Directors. He also served as Chairman of Adult and Teen Challenge of Chattanooga where he committed a great deal of time to improving the lives of others. On and on, this man took his ambassadorship of Christ SERIOUSLY and JOYFULLY. Unquestionably, his devotion to his LORD and SAVIOR was first in his life. But next to that was his love for his precious wife, Vivica! He understood God had blessed him with a Proverbs 31 woman and his mission was to be worthy of that gift; the two truly became one in every sense of the word. What a legacy "Preacher" has left us all. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Clara Poole; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Lizzy Crawley; parents, Creed W. Poole, Sr. and Mildred Crawley Poole; brother, Lee Allen (Donna Daniel) Poole all of Sale Creek and son-in-law, David Lawrence, Soddy-Daisy. Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Vivica Quinton Poole; daughter, Tammi Poole Lawrence Bowman (Mark), Chattanooga; grandchildren, Les D. Lawrence, Soddy-Daisy; Jeremy Wilson Lawrence (Kimberly), Nashville, Myles D. Lawrence (Alicia), Chattanooga; great grandchildren, Logan Arrington; Gavin, Makenzie, London and Kaiden Lawrence all of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Gail Poole Newell (Randy); nephews, Jeff Newell (Mindy), Kevin Newell, Dayton; great nephew, Brandon Newell, Washington, D.C.; niece, Brandi Poole Jewell (Jamie), Dayton and a host of friends. Creed is NOW no longer bound by the constraints of our fleshly housing. His graduation is still being celebrated in the courts of Heaven. I visualize Creed in the arms of our Savior, eyes sparkling and laughing out loud after hearing the words all of us desire to hear: Well done My good and faithful servant. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He will lie in state on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rechoboth Baptist Church. His homegoing service will be on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Rechoboth Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Stewart, Gail Holland Thompson, Jim Garrett and grandson Les Lawrence officiating and Marilyn May as piano accompanist. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Les Lawrence, Jeremy Lawrence, Myles Lawrence, Kevin Newell, Jeff Newell and Jim Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaylon Peacock, Glenn Lemley, Winford McGehee and Mickey Hancock. Special thank you to Adoration Hospice for their excellent care in recent weeks and to caregiver, Rachel, for her special care. Memorial contributions can be made to Rechoboth Baptist Church, Adult & Teen Challenge of Chattanooga or Adoration Hospice. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
