Born on August 11, 1961, in Newark, New Jersey, Craig was the son of Janice Chavers and Kenneth Anderson.Craig spent his early years in Newark, where he graduated from Barringer High School with the Class of 1979. He later attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. Craig went on to build a career in car sales, a field that suited his outgoing personality and ability to connect easily with people from all walks of life.Craig was known for his vibrant personality and warm presence. He loved traveling, enjoyed sports, and most importantly cherished time spent with his family. To those who knew him best, Craig was understanding, charismatic, and deeply devoted to the people he loved.One of the greatest joys of Craig's life was watching his children grow into adulthood, build their own lives, and start families of their own. Becoming a grandfather brought him immense pride and happiness.Craig leaves behind a legacy of love through his family. He is survived by his sons, Craig Chavers Jr. and Cameron Chavers, and by his daughter, Brittaney Pacheco. He is also survived by his beloved partner of more than a decade, Shan Brown.He is further survived by his cherished grandchildren Julissa, Roman, Ila, and Maverick Chavers; Navier and Navaya Chavers; and Jackson, Bishop, and Zhuri Pacheco, all of whom brought him tremendous joy.Craig is also survived by his loving sisters, Roneisha Edwards and Hassana Craig, and his brother, Abdul Sanders, along with extended family members and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.Craig will be remembered as a loving father, proud grandfather, devoted brother, and a man whose warm spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on those around him.Craig was cremated, and a memorial service will be held in New Jersey in the coming weeks where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and share memories.Though he is no longer with us, Craig's love, laughter, and legacy will live on through the family he cherished so deeply.Please sign the online registry and leave a personal condolence for the family.Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory has the honor of being entrusted with the arrangements.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
