The farm was a place where he felt most at peace, surrounded by the outdoors he loved. Life on the farm brought together many of the things Craig enjoyed most, from caring for animals to spending time outdoors with family and friends. He was a proud and valued member of "Team Shadow," the affectionate name given to the team behind a beloved show horse on the farm. At competitions, Craig was always there lending a hand, setting up the tailgate area, carrying equipment, helping care for the horse, and proudly holding the ribbons and trophies earned along the way.An incredibly skilled hunter and fisherman, Craig enjoyed spending his free time either in the woods or out on a boat.Craig was known for his quick-witted humor and his ability to make anyone laugh. His sense of humor and easygoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.One of the roles he cherished most was being a father. Craig spent many years coaching his daughter, Samantha (Sammy) Jo Whiting, in softball, dedicating countless hours to practices, games, and traveling to tournaments. Much of his time was spent on the softball field, proudly by Sammy's side. One of his proudest moments was coaching Sammy's team to a World Series Championship in 2012. He also coached her team to a USSSA State Championship victory in 2016. Craig loved the game of softball immensely, but he loved supporting his daughter even more.Craig is survived by his partner, Susan "Sue" Warfield; his daughter, Sammy Jo Whiting (Jennifer Whiting); his step-son, Joshua Reyes (Rhianna Reyes); and his beloved granddaughter, Parker Jo Whiting. Parker brought him immense joy and was one of the greatest sources of pride and happiness in his life.He is also survived by his father, Michael Joseph Kastner Jr.; his siblings, Michael Kastner III (June Kastner), Gary Kastner (Margy Kastner), and Katherine "Kathy" Stradley (Dave Stradley); and best friend/cousin, John Magruther. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Patricia Kastner.Craig will be remembered for his humor, his love of the outdoors, his dedication to his family, and the laughter he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to live on through the stories and love shared by his family and friends.Information regarding a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
