Cornelius P. Shea, known affectionately as Connie, of Stratford, Connecticut, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on February 27, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Ellen Hennessey Shea. Connie had been a Connecticut resident since the early 1940s. He served as a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the National Association of Atomic Veterans.

A 1962 graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute after attending Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connie enjoyed a long career with the United Illuminating Company. He retired in 1994 as a supervisor after more than 39 years of service and remained an active member of the UI Jewel Club. A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church in Stratford, he was also a member of the Lordship Father’s Club and the Gaelic-American Club.

He is survived by his two devoted sons, Patrick J. Shea and his wife, Rosemary, of Surrey, England, and Christopher Shea and his wife, Therese, of Stratford; three grandchildren, Michael, Connor, Gabrielle, and Shannon; and three great-grandchildren, Adianna, Skye, and Nash. He is also survived by his brother, Jeremiah Shea and his wife, Patricia, of Stratford, as well as special nieces and nephews Kathleen Dully and her husband, Robert, of Avon, Michael P. Shea of Norwalk, Kevin Shea and his wife, Susan, of Madison, and Jeremiah C. Shea and his wife, Kirsten, of Milford, along with great-nieces and nephews Sarah, Robert, Maggie, Ellie, Norah, Jeremiah, CJ, Tyler, and Eli.
