Cornelius "Buddy" Hassard

Cornelius Thomas Hassard, known affectionately as Buddy, of Neptune, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 82 at Complete Care in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

Born on November 26, 1943, in New Jersey, he was the son of Neil Hassard and Mary Hassard of the Portfolio family. His father had recently shipped off to war at the time of his birth, and Buddy grew up surrounded by the love of a large extended family. He was known as a charming character who took great joy in making others laugh. He had a lifelong passion for cars, cherished days at the beach, enjoyed a good football game, and found deep appreciation in life’s simpler moments. Above all, he loved his family deeply.

He is survived by his partner of 15 years, Judy Mollicone; his brother Robert Hassard and sister-in-law Josephine Hassard and their children Pamela, Kim, and Robert and their respective families; his son Kenneth Rauch Davis and his wife Roxanne Rauch; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews from his large family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Nancy.

Buddy will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
