Consuelo Barajas Martínez

Consuelo Barajas Martínez passed away on March 7, 2026, at Mission Regional Hospital in Mission, Texas. Born on October 29 in Hidalgo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Esteban Barajas Perales and Guadalupe Martínez Medina, who instilled in her the values of love, humility, and deep dedication to family that guided her throughout her life.

Consuelo was a noble, strong, and profoundly loving woman who always placed her family first. She devoted herself to caring for, guiding, and cherishing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place filled with warmth, laughter, and family unity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Héctor González Torres, her parents, and five of her siblings.

She is survived by her children Gildardo (Alma) González Barajas, Salvador (Nora Carmen) González Barajas, Elizabeth (Pedro Nava) González Barajas, José Héctor (Yesenia Soto Treviño) González Barajas, Juan Gabriel González Barajas, María Guadalupe (Pedro R. Treviño) González Barajas, Esmeralda (Ma. Jesús Cerda) González Barajas, and María Antonia (Juan Cortez) González Barajas, along with 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her dear sister María Guadalupe Grimaldo Barajas and many other relatives and friends who will remember her with great affection.

Consuelo found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching her favorite show, “La Rosa de Guadalupe,” tending to her plants, and caring for her beloved rose garden with patience and love. Above all, her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family, listening to her grandchildren’s laughter, and sharing precious moments with her children, whom she loved deeply. Her tenderness, strength, and unwavering devotion will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
