June 3, 1957— March 12, 2026
Fredericksburg, OH
Connie Marie McKelvey, 68, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after an extended illness.
Born on June 3, 1957, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to Robert and Janet (Nelson) Brady, Connie graduated from Wooster High School and the Joint Vocational School in 1975. That same year, on November 8, she married Kelly M. McKelvey, and together they raised their four children on the McKelvey Family Farm in Fredericksburg.
Connie worked at Nichols Department Store, Crum Pharmacy, St. Peter’s Pre-school, Nick Amster Workshop, and Dream Hammock. A longtime member of Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church, she served as a 4-H advisor and was active in the Fredericksburg Fire Department Auxiliary. She helped organize the town’s first 4th of July parade and cherished family trips to Florida and the beach. Above all, she was devoted to her family, never missing a sporting event or school activity involving her children or grandchildren. In quieter moments, she found joy in working jigsaw puzzles and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Kelly; their children and spouses, Matthew and Tonya McKelvey, Shawn and Wendy McKelvey, Megan Bernhart, all of Fredericksburg, and Brittany and Matt Martie of New Braunfels, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Cowen, Haylee, Kinze, Case, Reid, Brady, Amelia, Knox, Gavin, Cadence, Easton, and Stella; her father, Robert Brady of Wooster; and her siblings, Bob, Dan, Alex, Brian, Wendy, and Bonnie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet.
