Connie Robertson ObituaryVisit the Schmidt Funeral Home - East Avenue - Katy website to view the full obituary. It is with great sorrow and sadness, coupled with Christian joy and hope, that we announce the earthly death of Connie (Lori) Lorene Robertson, who passed away at home surrounded by family while under the compassionate care of Houston Hospice after battling Frontal Temporal Dementia.Lori was born on January 4, 1965, in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Sheldon, Texas, where she formed the strong roots of faith, family, and spirited determination that would guide her throughout her life. She later made her home in Katy, Texas, where she lived for 33 years and created a place filled with love, faith, and community. On April 25, 1992, Lori married the love of her life, Gordon Robertson, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. Together they built a marriage grounded in faith and devotion.Lori graduated from Sheldon High School in 1983 and went on to attend Sam Houston State University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1987. She dedicated 29 years of service to the Harris County Department of Education in the Records Management Division before retiring.Lori found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. One of her favorite pastimes was curling up with a good novel, often with her dog and cat resting comfortably in her lap. She loved Katy Tigers red, cheered enthusiastically for the Chicago Blackhawks, and delighted in Chinese and Mexican food, funnel cake, and red velvet cake. More than anything, she cherished talking every day with her beloved daughter, Tori. Her most treasured place in the world was the home she and Gordon shared in Katy. There she lovingly tended a yard overflowing with flowers and delighted in feeding the hundreds of wild whistler ducks that gathered in her front yard.Lori lived her Roman Catholic faith fully as a devoted member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Her faith was not only something she believed but something she lived daily through service. She was actively involved in many ministries including Children's Liturgy Aide, Marriage Preparation Couples Sponsor, Religious Education Aide, Baptism at Mass Coordinator, and Eucharistic Minister. As the spouse of a permanent deacon, she embraced a life of spiritual formation and service to others. Those who knew Lori will remember her as feisty, passionate, spirited, loyal, compassionate, and deeply faith-filled. She believed firmly in putting God and family first and lived that conviction every day.Lori is survived by her beloved husband, Deacon Gordon Robertson; her daughter, Victoria (Tori) Killingsworth, and son-in-law Matthew Killingsworth; her stepmother, Wanda Goodson; and her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Lenox, and her father, Dr. Paul Goodson.Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Cook, David Williams, Rob Stagg, Tony Baeza, Rick Ramos, and Tom D'Andrea.Lori's life was a beautiful witness to faith, love, and devotion. Though her earthly journey has ended, her family finds comfort in the hope of the Resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.Colorful flowers are appreciated in celebration of Lori's vibrant spirit.
