Energetic and intellectually curious, she was a lifelong lover of language who earned her master's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. She married Gene Bussewitz on October 13,1982, and together they built a life centered on family and faith.Connie's career reflected both her intellect and practical strengths. She worked for many years in administrative roles at Mosinee Paper and then her church in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, before concluding her professional life teaching business classes at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.Connie loved to cook and entertain, and her home was always filled with good food, laughter, and lively exchanges, whether in Wisconsin or her winter home away from home, Green Valley, AZ. She found joy in singing in the choir at her church and took great pride in caring for others. Above all, she treasured time with her family and friends and showed her love generously and without reservation.Strong, energetic, and deeply engaged with the world around her, Connie will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and the easy way she connected with others, making time spent together a true joy.Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Bussewitz; her parents, Richard & Vivian (Nyman) Chubb; her sister, Carolyn (Chubb) Leno; and an infant sibling, Richard Chubb.She is survived by her son Thor Bussewitz (Hannah); her stepchildren Paige Johnson (Mark Kirkeby) and Zach Bussewitz; her grandchild Roscoe J.R. Colt; her step-grandchildren Kaiya Peytcheva-Bussewitz and Orion Peytchev Bussewitz; and her siblings Robert Chubb (Fran), Katherine Davis (James), and Cheryl Cloyd (Harvey), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.Memorial Service will be held at First Lutheran Church, 1180 8th Avenue, Cumberland WI on March 20, 2026 at 11am. Visitation will be held at the church at 10am with luncheon to follow at noon.Internment at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial, N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner, WI will be held at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
