MacDonald Jr., 85, a longtime resident of Easton, MA passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 14, 2026. He was the devoted husband of Carol (Henry) MacDonald, with whom he shared 56 loving years of marriage.Born in Boston, a son of the late Colin and Helen (MacDougall) MacDonald, he was raised in West Roxbury and graduated from Boston Technical High School. Colin continued his studies at Northeastern University where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering.Colin was employed for more than 40 years with Symmons Industries of Braintree as the Director of Engineering.Known to many as "Mr. Fix It," Colin was an avid do-it-yourself handyman. He loved tinkering in his workshop and yard, always immersed in a project and always happy to explain how things worked to anyone willing to listen. Teaching others and sharing his curiosity brought him great joy. Above all, he cherished time with his family and was always the first to lend a hand whenever someone needed help. When he wasn't working on a project, you could often find him watching a game and passionately rooting for his Boston teams like the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He was a passionate traveler who cherished the many trips he shared with his wife Carol, family and friends.In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by two daughters, Laura MacDonald of Brewster and Michelle Roberts and her husband Jason of Canton; two grandchildren, Morgan Roberts and Hailey Roberts, both of Canton. He was the brother of the late Joan Walker. Additionally, he is survived by many cherished cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, March 19th at 9:30 a.m. from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours on Wednesday, March 18th from 4-8 p.m.In lieu of flowers donations in Colin's memory may be sent to the American Heart Association, 93 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA. 02481To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
