Clyde Stanley Housel, 91, of Pelion, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on October 14, 1934, in Hollywood, California, to Novella Weatherford and Stanton Housel, Clyde spent his life working and raising his children alongside his beloved wife, Geraldine Housel. He found joy in tending his yard, reading Western novels by his favorite author Louis L’Amour, playfully showing off his famous left jab, and indulging in his love for chocolate.

In recent years, Clyde lived with his son Monte Housel and daughter-in-law Christy Housel in Pelion, where he cherished daily time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son Monte Housel and wife Christy of Pelion, South Carolina; their children Cassie Kopta of Arizona, Eldon Scriven of New York, Kaydence Ryan of South Carolina, Trinity Williams of South Carolina, Azaleah Housel of South Carolina, Izaiah Housel of South Carolina, Jonella Housel of South Carolina, Skyler Sherman of South Carolina, Arianna Housel of South Carolina, and Romance Housel of South Carolina; his son Steven Housel of North Dakota and his children Nicholas Housel of North Dakota, Brittany Choleva of North Dakota, and Emily Housel of Texas; and his daughter Cynthia Powell of Arizona and her children Bryan Powell of California and Leanna Powell of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Housel, his granddaughter Jenifer (Housel) Mitchell, his parents, siblings, and many other dear family members.
