Clyde Ripka

Norwalk, CT

Clyde Ripka Clyde Ripka, April 16, 1957- February 22, 2026, passed away surrounded by his loving family after bravely facing the cruel and unforgiving disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), which cut his life far too short. Originally from Massapequa, Clyde carried his strong roots, loyalty, and love of family with him throughout his life. He was predeceased by his beloved parents Michael and Eleanor and, his niece Rebecca. Clyde was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Kristin, and an incredibly proud father to his son Zachary, daughter-in-law, Amanda, and son Nathaniel. His heart grew even bigger with the arrival of his beautiful granddaughter, Yuna, who brought him endless joy and pride. Family was everything to Clyde, and he adored every moment spent together. Clyde is survived by sister Audrey, Sister Valerie and her husband Stephen, brother Keith, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. He shared a special bond with his wife's family, including his mother-in-law (Lois), father-in-law and his wife (Ed and Jan), and his sister- and brother-in-law (Denise and Bob), all of whom he cared for deeply. Clyde was everyone's friend - warm, welcoming, and full of life. A passionate chef, he expressed his love through food, believing meals were meant to bring people together. He loved working at his beachside seasonal restaurant in Norwalk and at Pocantico Hills School, where he built lasting friendships and made a meaningful impact. He embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. He loved surfing, skiing, lacrosse, and nearly every sport imaginable. He found peace and happiness outdoors - gardening, walking his beloved dogs, and capturing life's beauty through photography. Two places held a particularly special place in his heart: Montauk and Maui. He loved living there - and oh, the stories he would tell. Stories filled with adventure, humor, laughter, and the kind of moments that made life rich and unforgettable. A celebration of Clyde's life, "Aloha Friday" will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Terra Restaurant - Hotel Zero Degrees; 15 Milestone Road, Danbury.
