He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Halterman; his children, Colleen Link (John) and Christopher Sterling (Patricia); his daughter-in-law Lisa Sterling; his grandchildren, John, Ashley, Joey Link, Alec, Madison Sterling, Bianca and Zach Sterling; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Applegate, Marie Applegate, Jamie Sterling, Jack Sterling, Lucy Link and JD Link; his sister-in-law Pat Sterling; and his sibling's children, Davey Sterling, Ricky Sterling, Beverly Sterling and Wesley Sterling (Eva).

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (8307 IL-160, New Baden, IL 62265). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
