Clyde Mark Anthony Ransonet, a native of Jeanerette and longtime resident of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital at the age of 69.
Clyde lived life on his own terms and was known as a true trailblazer. He attended St. Joseph School in Jeanerette and graduated from Jeanerette High School in 1973. He went on to attend McNeese State University, where he played football. His passion for sports remained a constant throughout his life, whether playing Cabbage Patch ball in his spare time or cheering as a fiercely loyal New Orleans Saints and NFL fan.
He is survived by his sons, Joshua Ransonet and wife Nicole, and Zebe Ransonet; his grandchildren, Holland Cove Ransonet, Boston Ransonet, Acesyn Boudreaux, Sebastian Fremin, and Maddison Fremin; his siblings, Gordon Ransonet, Rebecca Vincent and husband Ed, and Jennie Veazey and companion Tony Richardson; and his nieces and nephews, Chad Veazey, Jamie Olivier, Amy Elkins, and Marcelle Wendland, along with his great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Francis Ransonet and Claire Henley Ransonet.
