He was born on February 7, 1945, in Manchester, the son of Clyde Ivan and Jeanette Berniece (Dunham) Scovel. Clyde was raised and educated in Manchester and was a 1963 graduate of Manchester High School. After his graduation, he attended DeVry Technical Institute.On June 25, 1966, Clyde was united in marriage to Doris Ketelsen at the United Methodist Church in Manchester. Three children were born to this union. Clyde owned and operated Clyde's TV and Appliance for 42 years. He loved bowling and camping. Clyde especially loved his family and cherished spending time with family and friends.Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Doris Scovel of Manchester; his three children, Jay (Lori) Scovel of Manchester, Julie (Craig) Ridgley of Eldridge, and Jill (Jeremy) Wachal of Iowa Falls; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Ketelsen of Clinton and Ida Mae Ketelsen of Ankeny; and several nieces and nephews.Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley (Bob) Ross; sister-in-law, Diane Carter; and brothers-in-law, Donald Ketelsen and Darrell Ketelsen.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Clyde Allen Scovel, please visit our floral store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
