Clyde Allen Huffines, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on August 28, 1939, in Mesa, Arizona, he was the youngest child of Robert and Sarah Huffines.
Clyde left school after the eighth grade to begin working as an oil field hand with Cimmaron Oil under Clayton Krotzer, helping to support his parents after they both suffered debilitating strokes. In 1963 he married Alice Faye Baker in Hominy, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Cleveland, Oklahoma, where they raised two daughters, Karen Sue Huffines Cummings and Mary Anne Huffines Andrews.
He worked as an oil field pumper well into his mid-seventies. When not working, Clyde cherished time with his family and took great pride in his garden, where he grew squash, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelon, and cantaloupe. He was a familiar face at the long breakfast table with his friends at Hickory House, and in his later years he enjoyed watching old westerns and game shows.
Clyde’s dedication to providing for his family, along with his humor and caring nature, remain his lasting legacy. He is survived by his daughter Mary Andrews and son-in-law Tony Andrews of Euless, Texas; five granddaughters, LaJuanna Hall and April Cummings of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Sarah Weber of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hannah Noxon of Dallas, Texas, and Hailey Noxon of Euless, Texas; a brother-in-law, Tommy Baker of Enid, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren, Madison, Makenzie, Donnie Harrison, Avery and Nevaeh Cummings of Muldrow, Oklahoma, and Brayden Strowick of Euless, Texas; one great-great-grandchild, Hudson Hill of Muldrow, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah Huffines; his wife, Alice Huffines; his daughter, Karen Cummings; and all of his siblings.
