Clifton E. Moore

Clifton Earl Moore, 79, of Stratford, Connecticut, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026. Born and raised in Vanceboro, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of Bennie Moore and Virginia Wichard.

A devoted family man, Cliff was a loving son and baby brother to nine siblings. In 1974, he followed two of his older sisters north and settled in New York, where he worked as a driver for Ackerman Delivery Services. There he met Marjorie Chinnis and her children, Joseph Chinnis, Jr. and Jamille Chinnis. In 1979, Cliff and Marjorie began a new life together in Stratford, where he worked at Bridgeport Fittings and Porter and Chester Institute. The couple married on August 14, 1982.

Cliff was a committed Mason for many years, serving in leadership roles dedicated to helping others grow. He also served as a Deacon at Deliverance Pentecostal Church and cherished the scripture Psalm 23:1 – “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings William Moore, Charles Moore, Junior Moore, Octavis Moore, Margie Clark, Minnie Ward, Ruth Dixon, and Thelma Jean Moore. Clifton is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
