Clifford Richter ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hurley Funeral Home - Pleasanton on Mar. 7, 2026.It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Daddy, and Opa, Clifford Franklin Richter, 80, of Pleasanton, Texas. Cliff left this earthly life to receive his eternal reward on March 6, 2026 after a brief illness.Cliff was born on July 26, 1945, in Hallettsville, Texas, to Charles F. and Philomena (Berger) Richter. As an active member of his high school chapter of FFA, Cliff was awarded the ribbon for Atascosa County Grand Champion Steer in 1961. After graduating from Pleasanton High School in 1963, he enlisted in the Army Reserve and served his country from 1965–1971. During this time, Cliff also worked as a lineman for Karnes Electric Cooperative. On August 13, 1966, he married Sandra Kay Andrews at Pleasanton Church of Christ. They were blessed with two daughters, Kellye and Mendy. Cliff retired as an oilfield salesman from McJunkin-RedMan in 2010 and remained a part-time rancher, with a lifelong love of ranching, hunting and the outdoors. He was a hard worker, had a most friendly spirit, had never met a stranger, and had a smile that made everyone know their importance.A devoted Christian, Cliff was baptized into Christ in 1977 and later served as both a deacon and an elder at the Pleasanton Church of Christ. Cliff had been currently participating in jail ministry for the past 10 years.Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra; his beloved daughters, Kellye Michelle McLeroy (Chance) of Stephenville and Mendy Ann Harrison (Jeff) of Weatherford; grandchildren, Jace (Lauren) McLeroy of Abilene, Evan McLeroy of Stephenville, Luke Richter Harrison of Abilene, and Maci Harrison of Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Cord Cliff McLeroy and Texa McLeroy; his sister, Delphine Reichert (Lester) of Jourdanton and his brother-in-law, Jerome Jasik of Pleasanton. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. and Philomena Richter; siblings, Imelda Jaksik, Steve Richter and Charlene Jasik; and nephew, Freddie Jasik.Pallbearers are Jace McLeroy, Cord McLeroy, Evan McLeroy, Luke Harrison, Alfred Jaksik, Kenneth Jaksik, Dennis Jasik, Patrick Richter, and Ryan Reichert.Honorary Pallbearers from Cliff's family are Chance McLeroy, Jeff Harrison, and Brad Reichert. Honorary pallbearers also include the Lunch Bunch: Ray Bean, Lonnie Henderson, Wayne Johnson, Jonathan Kelley, Mike Norwood, and Eddie Reed. Other honorary pallbearers are Cliff's friends Gaylan Bryan, Ross Duren, Frank Geyer, David Henson, Chris Mann, Lee Royal, Larry Spencer, Caleb Ward, and Daniel Wishard.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Pleasanton Church of Christ Jail Ministry, P.O.
