Clifford F. Banks, born on December 5, 1946, in Sabetha, Kansas, passed away in March 2026 at The University of Kansas Health-Olathe in Olathe, Kansas. He leaves behind a legacy marked by his kindness, dedication to family, and adventurous spirit.
After graduating from Fairview School, Clifford proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Upon returning, he worked as a cook at Trails Cafe in Holton, Kansas, before beginning a long career at Lortscher Animal Nutrition in Bern, Kansas, from which he retired. He was deeply involved in the Centropolis Christian Church while living in Centropolis, Kansas, where he formed lasting friendships and strengthened his faith.
An enthusiastic traveler, Clifford visited 49 of the 50 states and cherished journeys to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. He loved sharing stories from his travels, browsing flea markets, collecting oil lamps, and enjoying meals at IHOP. Above all, he was a kind soul who treasured time spent with family and friends.
Clifford is survived by his sisters Ellen Osterhaus and Eileen Wiggins (Tim), his brother Donald Banks, and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Evelyn (Carpenter) Banks; his sister Mildred Burdick; his brother Charles Banks; his sister-in-law Anna Banks; and his brothers-in-law Norbert Burdick and Melvin Osterhaus.
