July 9, 1942— March 5, 2026
Seguin, TX
Clement “Dick” Richard Richter, age 83, of Seguin, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on July 9, 1942, in Eagle Lake, Texas, to Florence Faye (Konesheck) and Clement Leo Richter, Dick grew up with a deep connection to the Texas countryside that would shape much of his life.
A 1960 graduate of Eagle Lake High School, he went on to earn an associate’s degree in agriculture from Wharton County Junior College. He later trained as an antiques auctioneer and spent many years conducting auctions across Southeast Texas. After settling in Seguin with his wife JaNene, the couple built a barn on their property to host these events. In retirement, Dick took great pleasure in watching westerns, often recalling with fondness the times he met Roy Rogers. He also cherished the many lively card games shared with family and friends over the years.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, JaNene A. Richter; his children, Krystal Richter, Russell Richter and wife Dianna, and Timothy A. Richter and wife Laura; his grandchildren, who knew him as “Uncle Honey”—Skylair Richter and wife Kalyn, Nicole Limrick and husband Jake, Amy Richter, Ethan Richter, and Emily Jones and wife Rae; his great-grandchildren, Briden, Ryker, Guinevere, Temperance, and Theodore; his sister, Karen Richter; his sisters-in-law, Tulie Joen Alvarado and husband Armando, and JaNeille Etheridge; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
