He was predeceased by: his parents, Aggie Long and William Long; his siblings, Audrey (Wadsworth), Horbert, Delma (Carpenter), Homer, Ima Jean, Emma Weldon (Kiss), Willard, Willis and Frieda (Kiss); his grandson Ryan Long; and his son-in-law Danny Hotchkiss.

He is survived by: his wife Avadine Long (Allen); his children, Devonne Ksiazkiewicz (Mike), Dennis Long (Marla) and Vicki L'Huillier (Tom); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Hotchkiss (Brooke), Stephanie Sandau (Jamie), Jennifer Sauer (Jozef) and Rachel Long; his great grandchildren, Megan, Symbria, Dani Jo, Cori, Kolee and Bryce; and his sister Carmalita Polger.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hampton Funeral Homes - Jackson (4204 Ann Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI 49202). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cascades Humane Society or to the Jackson Animal Shelter.
