Claudia Gibson

Claudia Gibson was born on August 26, 1927, to Curly and Carrie James. She departed this life on March 6, 2026. She was joined in holy matrimony to Arthur Gibson and was educated in the Monroe County school system. At an early age she joined William Chapel AME Church, where she faithfully served on the usher board and sang in the choir.

Claudia was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her parents, eight brothers, four sisters, two sons, one daughter, and one granddaughter. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Mary Gibson, Isaiah (Brenda) Gibson, and William (Susan) Gibson; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including Carrie Simmons, Mattie Johnson, and Vickie Jones.
