He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Edward Jr. Wheattall and Edith Wheattall; and his sister Patricia Wheattall. He is survived by: his wife Linda Wheattall; his children, Melissa Caruso (Dominic), Claude "Butch" Wheattall IV (Grace) and Mary Camplese; his grandchildren, Jessica Cotton (Ryan), Jerry Hoback (Tiffany), Amanda Wheattall, Samantha Hawkins (David), Logan Bauer (Amanda), Marie Yackey (Joshua) and Marissa Camplese; and his great grandchildren, Dylan Cotton, Abigail Cotton, RJ Cotton, Liam Wortman, Alex Hawkins, Emily Hoback, Jayse Hoback, Amelia Bauer, Ella Yackey and Roland Yackey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Potti Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Potti Funeral Home and Cremation Service (1329 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004).
