Born on June 4, 1932, on a farm east of Browning, Missouri, Clarice was the daughter of Lealand and Lucile (Taylor) Norvell. She graduated from Browning High School in 1949. On November 10, 1950, she married Donald Dean Wood, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1999.

Clarice built a long and dedicated career.
